About cITaKu Lab


Programme Summary :
cItaKU labs is an initiative to provide sufficient ICT infrastructure in schools situated in rural areas. This is to ensure that ICT would assist and complement students and community’s learning experience and technique. The implementation of the cITaKU Labs project was carried out through various collaborations including Ministry of Education and University Sains Malaysia.
The first phase of implementation of cITaKU Labs involves seven (7) schools and the second phase of implementation of cITaKU labs involves 23 schools.


Programme Objective :
  1. Create labs which are consistently maintained and professionally managed complete with hardware, software, training modules and dedicated facilitators.
  2. Produce students who value the concept of knowledge seeking, appreciate inquisitiveness and able to work independently.
  3. Amplify enthusiasm among the teachers to use ICT in preparing academic lessons.
  4. Increase digital accessibility to rural schools and communities.
Target Group :
  • 30 primary schools from NCER region.
  • Schools from rural areas; 30% of the students in this schools are involved in RMT program.
  • Focusing on students from remote areas.
  • Students with average academic achievements; mainly in English, Science and Mathematics; and actively involved in school co-curriculum.
  • Students from low-socio economic background.
  • Teachers.
  • Community.
